The Problem

Lets assume that you want to deploy your new antenna onto your roof, and the antenna (or the HF cable) has some connectors which are exposed to rain. The only type of connectors you have is something like this:

Well - if you put it into environment without protection then it is not really waterproof. And even if it would work for some time without protection, the rain will stream along the connection and finally there will be water within it.

The Solution

The solution is quiet simple: Wrap an old bicycle-inner-tube over your connection and fix it with some zip ties. Like this:
